Create a motion graphics video with GOM Mix 2024
2024-02-06
Hello, this is GOM Lab. 😆
Today, I would like to post about the skill deepening process of creating motion graphics videos with GOM Mix 2024.
Previously, we only provided basic information about videos.
The main focus this time is the skill part, so make sure you understand it well and practice often!
Motion graphics are commonly used to give impact to the subject of a video or a specific object.
Or, it is used when the video is dull or to attract attention at the beginning of the video.
And You can also insert it at the ending. 😊
However, if you use it frequently, the video can become messy, and if you focus on the technical aspects, you may overlook the basic content.
That's why I'm informing you this late.
I think you've probably seen motion graphics in text form in advertisements for well-known corporate brands.
These parts are sometimes called typography, but in the larger picture, they can be called motion graphics. 😊
Various video elements, such as a sparkling effect in a specific part or a line drawing effect, are also motion graphics.
Now, let’s find out more details through simple editing using GOM Mix 2024.

02 How to apply motion graphics through GOM Mix 2024
Part 1. Image masking or chroma key are essential to create motion graphics!
Motion graphics, to put it mildly, is a concept that adds emphasis to a video.
While we have been giving points to videos through cut editing, this time it would be better to think of the concept of giving points through the source of the video.
Most of these video sources can give points through image masking (image with the background removed), geometric objects, and chroma key images.
It is easy to use it by moving it with motion within the video if it is classified as a specific object.
Don't forget that in order to produce a motion graphics video, you must have the video and various source files!
But, in our GOM Mix 2024, you can apply effects with a few simple clicks.
Part 2. How to apply motion graphics through GOM Mix 2024
In order to use motion graph, you must first understand the concept of keyframes.
To put it simply, you can think of it as specifying the start and end of a specific part where you want to add an effect.
At this time, if you set the start and end values differently, the two keyframes are connected and movement is created.
Let’s check out the example images with the above in mind.
GOM Mix 2024 has functions called ‘object’ and ‘overlay’.
In other video editing programs, you have to manually specify or adjust keyframes,
but with GOM Mix 2024, you can easily adjust the length of the video and place it where you want!
The image above shows the state where the effect is located in the desired area by inserting an effect called ‘Draw Line’.
By double-clicking the effect clip, you can easily adjust the position, color value, or size of the motion graphic effect.
I think this convenience is the advantage of GOM Mix 2024.
An overlay is a specific effect applied to the original video, and can be used to add a warm texture to the original video, as shown in the image above.
It's convenient because you can apply the desired overlay effect by just clicking on it while the original clip is selected, right?
This effect is often used when the original video is short.
Since it is applied to the entire video, it is used to create impact in a specific section.
Motion graphs can also be applied to text.
If you frequently use subtitles in videos but feel that they are somewhat boring, you may want to try using them like this.
When you insert text in GOM Mix 2024, there is a appear/disappear effect below the text input field.
The form in which the motion will be composed is displayed in the form of a graph.
Actually, that's the value you can get by adjusting the keyframe yourself!
GOM Mix 2024 conveniently presets even these parts, so you can set the desired effect by clicking on them all.
Shall we explain in a little more detail?
When you select ‘Transform’ in the effect menu and apply it to the text, a pop-up window like the one above will appear.
Then, if you add a keyframe on the screen above, you can see that a specific part is marked.
This refers to the portion of the entire length of the video to which the effect is applied.
If you use this function well, you can not only have a dissolve effect that appears or disappear naturally, which is the basic subtitle effect,
but you can also make it look like the subtitles disappear beneath the video.
Today, I explained how to use motion graphics through GOM Mix 2024.
Did you understand it well?
In fact, there are some sensuous aspects of trying out these compositions and skills,
but I think the quality of cut editing and filming, which are the basics of video, are also important.
We hope that many people will continue to practice by referring to today's post,
and check out the motion graphic effects using chroma key through our GOM Mix 2024 YouTube video link.
All explanations are done for now. I'll conclude this post.
Stay tuned for the next post! Bye for now! 😊
